The 44-year-old grandmother from Lorain, Ohio, Tracy Matthews, struggled for many years with excess weight — at her peak, her weight reached 605 pounds (about 274 kg).
Because of this, she developed a severe form of lymphedema: her legs were swollen, painful, and covered in cellulite, making every step a torment.
When Tracy appeared on the show “My 600-Lb. Life,” she dreamed of only one thing — regaining mobility, health, and the ability to live near her grandchildren.
Under the supervision of a doctor, she underwent complex surgeries, including the removal of excess weight and excess skin from her legs. As a result, she lost about 167 pounds (76 kg) solely through surgical interventions.
After returning home, Tracy continued to fight lymphedema, improving her quality of life and gradually regaining her strength.
Now she can move independently, the pain has decreased, and she once again enjoys time with her family.
